I was digging in the Facebook archives recently and found these photos sent to us from Jason Steiner in 2012 shortly after receiving his ShaKa Studios custom media console cabinet. Unbelievably, even though we blogged about the creation process of this custom media console every step of the way, we never posted these photos of the TV stand in Jason’s home!
As you can see, Jason had some very specific needs. He needed space for his turntable and reel to reel audio player. For those of you scratching your head and wondering about that silver robot looking thing next to the TV, it’s a reel to reel audio player.
“Hi, finally got around to taking some pictures. The light in my living room isn’t too great, and all I have is a point ‘n shoot camera, so they don’t really do your work justice. But we do love the way it looks.” – Jason Steiner
The creation story for this custom media altar lives in our old blog. Rather than make you hunt down the entire story in pictures, I thought it would be fun to share them again here:
Altar of Media Creation Story
First, Jason sent us his vision in sketch form:
Then, Shane interpreted Jason’s vision as a CAD:
After Jason approved the design, Shane began cutting and assembling parts:
And adding hardware and fancy features, like speaker mesh in the door panels.
Jason wanted groovy brushed nickel legs:
Then, the custom media altar starting really coming together:
